Election Stuff

As any of my followers/frequent readers are I’m sure aware I jumped on Bernie Sander’s revolution train last year. I’m on it for the long haul. We won’t really know what route we’re taking until after the convention which is July 25-27. All we do know is that the establishment still doesn’t get it. The DNC voted down pretty much all the progressive platforms just a bit ago meanwhile pretending that Hillary is our only shot against the Donald. Ridiculous. Neither are viable options. The establishment is trying real hard to make us think we don’t have a choice. Ya know, on top of everything (the DNC accepted TPP and fracking too, Hillary wants to add woman between 18 and 26 to the draft, she has the same donors as Bush…) the FBI used the day after Independence day to say we know she is definitely guilty many times over but we’re not going to be indicated.

This isn’t about that though. If all your news comes from MSM and you don’t understand how they try and manipulate you 24/7, nothing I say will change your mind. These people on TV are liteally outlining the play by play of what they want us to do and too many people give in to it without question. They think it sucks but just follow suit because they’ve been told so many times that they are powerless that they believe it. I spoke with an old high school friend the other day who didn’t know that third party candidates were a thing. She’s looking at Green party’s Jill Stein now.

Robert Reich, the former secretary of labor under Bill Clinton as well as Yale classmate of both Hillary and Bill, has endorsed Bernie Sanders since February. He often gives commentaries and explanations to political happenings. He knows his stuff, I recommend giving him a read or a listen.

As I’ve said before, Bernie Sander’s Progressive Team has grown quite substantially. The two most hard core members of the team are Nina Turner who is the former state senator for Ohio’s 25th district and served as the minority whip in the Ohio Senate, and Tulsi Gabbard who is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who has been the United States Representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district since 2013. Plus she also served the United States Army in Iraq.

Dr Cornel West is a face and name I also see around supporting the cause, although I never did recognize him. Today I saw a clip of him explaining healthcare as a right and I was deeply moved by it. Ironic as it is, I was with Hillary Clinton in 2008. I was a one issue voter, a big part of why I moved to Oregon was because they have always offered government assistance to those with preexisting conditions. The moment she flip-flopped on that by taking money from Big Pharma I was done with her. Anyway though West likened woman, colored folk and non land owners reseiving the right to vote to everyone reseiving the right to healthcare access.

Healthcare is a Right

As stated on his website, Cornel West is a prominent and provocative democratic intellectual. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Christian Practice at Union Theological Seminary and Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. He has also taught at Yale, Harvard, and the University of Paris. Cornel West graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard in three years and obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy at Princeton. He has written over 20 books and has edited 13. So he’s a smart dude. Definitely somebody whom I respect.
